a few people have asked what are my favorite skincare products.. my top six things i absolutely love and use everyday and they are..
- equate deep cleansing astringent for sensitive skin- i use this with cotton pads to take off any makeup off my face before i wash my face. it leaves my skin feeling cool and tingly. it does have alcohol in it but it hasnt effected my skin badly yet.
- neutrogena pink grapefruit oil-free acne wash- my holy grail face wash. i have been using this for about a year now. switching from marykay products that magically stopped working on my skin. anywho! this face wash has tons of vitamin c. it eliminates oil and dirt without over drying.
- St ives timeless skin daily microdermabrasion- i freaking love this. its like little itty bitty grains of sand that scrub all your little ugly black heads and big nasty pores. alittle goes along way too! i love that i only have to use a pea size amount.
- marykay oil mattifier- i use this on my oily spots.. especially around my nostrils and sometimes in between my eyebrows or tzone during the summer. its really really nice to see oil gone instantly.
- freeman’s good stuff organics antioxidant facial moisturizer with goji berry and acai berry- it soothes skin, fight free radicals, no parabens, synthetic dyes or sulfates. its also fair trade which is a plus. it smells so good and fruity. when i put it on i only put it on my dry spots. it leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth!
- elf zit zapper- this is crazy awesome for spot treatment. i use it on my stubborn pimples. i put this zit zapper on right before bed. it reduces redness, swelling and pain. i know you are thinking pain?! but my pimples sometimes are painful. so put i this on there and voila! gone within two nights! OH forgot to tell you! ITS ONLY A DOLLAR! BAM!
so there are all my skincare secrets. its been working here lately for me. i have tried lots of different types of things to clear my skin up. never found anything to help until this little magical combo. i am lovin it! so if you try any of these out let me know how it works out for you(:
so tonight i lightened my hair with a vitamin c and shampoo technique. it doesnt damage the hair and its pretty fool proof. i have done this multiple times. i learned this little trick in cosmetology school. i dyed a lady’s hair and it came out exactly like the swatch but she still thought it was still too dark.
this trick will bring your hair down about two levels or shades, however you want to put it. i also used to use this to take any semi-permanant colors out of my hair like manic panic or special effects.
so if you find yourself in one of these predicaments then i suggest you try this before you use bleach. cause believe me this is super easy and doesn’t damage. which is awesome.
so here are the things you are going to need.
-shampoo (i use a clarifying shampoo)
-nature made vitamin c tablets
-bowl
-stirring utensil
-shower cap
-towel
- crush vitamin c tablets. i put them in a baggie then rap in a towel and beat it with a hammer. keep crushing until its a powder. put the powder back in the container.
- mix together equal parts of shampoo and vitamin c.
- dampen hair
- apply mixture to hair
- cover hair with shower cap then the towel.
- let the mixture sit on your hair for at least 2 hours.
- rinse
- condition
after it dries your hair should be a couple shades lighter. in some case this might not work for everyone. i know someone who did this and she couldnt tell the difference the first few times she did this. but after the 4th or 5th time she could tell a huge difference. i think that it was because she had a nice hardy layer of black dye on her hair.
but honestly i am very glad i know about this. it has saved me from the damage of bleach when i wanted to lighten my hair up just a tad.
WITH THAT BEING SAID.. THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR BLEACH. ITS JUST A TECHNIQUE TO LIGHTEN HAIR A COUPLE OF SHADES. dont expect your hair to be barbie blonde after this if you have black hair.

We use this trick whenever we stay in a hotel, haha!!
